Easy proof of the production of green electricity: register with CertiQ

If you produce green electricity from solar panels, you can register their generating capacity with CertiQ, using the appropriate form. This form asks for your date of registration, the capacity of your panels, the name of your regional grid operator and the trader with whom your certificates should be credited.

Next your grid operator will perform an administrative check. This organization will verify that the information you have provided is accurate, and that the correct meters have been installed. Once everything is in order, the grid operator will approve your application and CertiQ can register you. You will receive confirmation of this step.

Follow these steps to register at CertiQ:

  1. To be eligible for subsidy, you first submit your request for the SDE+ subsidy to Agentschap NL. You cannot receive the SDE+ subsidy until you have received approval from Agentschap NL.
  2. Inform your grid operator  that you have, or plan to install, solar panels.
  3. Ask your grid operator  what kind of meters should be installed to measure how much power is generated.
  4. Do you know the month in which your meter will be installed? Don't register at CertiQ until then. Your grid operator can't approve your request for subsidies until your solar panel plant is complete.
  5. Are you ready to register your solar generating plant? Make sure you have the following information ready:
    - Your EAN code, which you can find in the EAN codebook
    - Your BSN number (this used to be called your ‘sofi’ number)
    - The generating capacity of your plant, in Megawatts (MW). Use this calculator, to enter the capacity in Watts, as stated in the documentation for your solar panels. The tool calculates the power in MW. Round this number to three digits after the decimal point
Example: the total capacity of your installation is 1620 W. In MW, that is 0.001620. Rounded to three digits that is 0.002 MW.
    - The trader of your choice
  6. You can sign your registration form (see step 8) using a DigiD. The form is then automatically sent to the grid operator; you do not need to take any further action. Should you choose not to sign with a DigiD, print the completed copy of the application form (the 'Verzoek tot Vaststelling') that you will receive by email, sign it and post it to your grid operator.
  7. We notify Agentschap NL as soon as your registration is complete, and Agentschap NL can then begin paying advances on your subsidy.
  8. Have you completed the above steps? Then fill out the application form ('Verzoek tot Vaststelling'). Registration with CertiQ takes about 15 minutes.
